BMW M Performance Parts. BMW 4 Series Coupé (Video)

BMW M Performance Parts. BMW 4 Series Coupe.

The new BMW 4 Series Coupe heralds the dawn of a new coupe era at BMW. Launched as the fourth generation of BMW’s sporty mid-size Coupe, the new BMW 4 Series Coupe embodies the very essence of aesthetic appeal and dynamics in the premium segment. Its stylistic features carry the promise of a powerful presence on the road, stand-out dynamic ability and driving pleasure in abundance.

Indeed, the new BMW 4 Series Coupe represents a paragon of balanced proportions and the final chapter in a story of development. The “4” in its title headlines this new era for the Coupe and emphasizes not only its stand-alone design, but also an even greater technical differentiation from its BMW 3 Series cousins.

The new BMW 4 Series Coupe is visibly larger in width and wheelbase than the outgoing BMW 3 Series Coupe, and its dynamically stretched coupe silhouette sits considerably lower to the road. This, together with its BMW-typical short overhangs, long bonnet and set-back passenger compartment with flowing roof line, lends the BMW 4 Series Coupe impeccable visual balance. The car’s striking front end – with its characteristic BMW design features, such as the double-kidney grille, twin circular headlights and a large air intake in the front apron – is keen to display its family ties with the BMW 3 Series. However, the more sporting interpretation of the BMW 4 Series Coupe also underlines its dynamic convictions.

A new element of the BMW 4 Series Coupe are the Air Breathers, positioned rearwards of the front wheel arches to reduce drag in this area. The Coupe’s muscular wheel arches and wide track make a particularly prominent contribution to the hunkered-down design of the rear, with its prominent horizontal lines.

Speed Limit – “Speed Kills Your Pocketbook”

Speed Limit – “Speed Kills Your Pocketbook”

Does speed really kill? Sometimes, yes, but when the speed limits are set artificially low, and enforcement is targeted to those areas where the limit is far below traffic speed, then all the speed kills campaign does is keep drivers complacent about paying fines that don’t improve safety.

The video, made by the advocacy group Sense B.C., garnered more than half a million views by Saturday, three days after it was posted, and peaked at No. 3 on Reddit’s video section.

This video, investigate the culture and science surrounding speed enforcement.

Renault will continue to power Caterham F1 Team in 2014 and beyond

Renault Energy F1 to power Caterham F1 Team from 2014

Renault Sport F1 and Caterham F1 Team are delighted to confirm the extension of their partnership in the FIA Formula One World Championship for a further three years.

Caterham will use the Renault Energy F1 Power Unit, the V6 turbocharged engine equipped with potent energy recovery systems

From next year, Caterham F1 Team will be equipped with the Renault Energy F1, a cutting edge power plant designed for the radical new 2014 technical regulations.

The Energy F1 unites a V6 turbocharged direct injection internal combustion engine with two motor generator units that harvest energy dissipated in the exhaust gasses and brakes and deploy as both electrical and mechanical power.

When combined the energy systems and engine will produce more power than the current V8 engines, however will be more than 35% more energy efficient thanks to technical and sporting regulations that prescribe a fuel flow limit of 100kg/h and maximum quantity of 100kg permitted per race.

The extended partnership will see Renault and Caterham F1 Team work together for a further three years in F1

The Anglo-Malaysian team and the French manufacturer first teamed up for the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, with the Renault RS27 V8 engine powering the team in subsequent seasons.

Cyril Abiteboul, Team Principal, Caterham F1 Team added: ‘This announcement is obviously very good news for our F1 team and is a reflection of the deep bonds that have been created between our two businesses since 2011, particularly with the roadcar project we launched in 2012 between Caterham and Alpine, which is now at an advanced stage in development.

    All-new BMW i8 launching video

With its fascinating holistic concept, the BMW i8 brings the vision of a modern and sustainable sports car to life. The highly-emotional design immediately makes it clear what qualities the BMW i8 has to offer. Dynamic proportions show off its acceleration potential even when it’s standing still; and yet it doesn’t rely on being a pure-blooded sports car.

Its aesthetics always follow a functional goal: for example, more aerodynamics for maximum efficiency and absolute performance.

    Toyota GT86 – Nice TV commercial ;)

    Toyota GT86 – TV commercial

The Toyota 86 is a series of grand tourer sports coupes jointly developed by Japanese automobile manufacturers Toyota and Subaru.

In Europe, the GT86 was named the car of the year by Top Gear magazine., while Autocar named it the best driver’s car, and Auto Express gave it their performance car award.[50] Australia’s Drive gave the 86 the Car of the Year award, Best Performance Car under A$60,000 and won the People’s Choice vote., while the 86 and BRZ shared Carsguide’s Car of the Year. Top Gear Australia named the BRZ their car of the year.

They feature a boxer engine, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and 2+2 seating. The 86 is sold under three different brands associated with its creators: Toyota (Toyota 86 in Japan, South Africa and Australia, Toyota GT86 in Europe, both names in New Zealand, and Toyota FT86 in Jamaica), Subaru (Subaru BRZ) and Scion (Scion FR-S for the United States and Canada).

The name 86 (pronounced “eight-six” or Hachi-Roku, more commonly pronounced as “eighty-six”) refers to the AE86 generation of rear-wheel drive sports coupes and hatchbacks sold as the Toyota Sprinter Trueno and Toyota Corolla Levin from 1983 to 1987.

The 86 has been marketed as the spiritual successor to the AE86s by Toyota, with further referencing to a heritage tracing back to the Toyota 2000GT, a front engine, rear-drive sports car with a 2.0 litre engine, as well as the Toyota Sports 800, Toyota’s first sports car.

Can you feel it? Escape from the numbness of a fake CGI city into the real world with the Toyota GT86 to Feel Real again. Watch our full length TV commercial.

    Citroën DS3 & Petter Solberg

    PETTER SOLBERG’S CITROËN DS3 SUPERCAR

Outwardly, the Citroën DS3 Supercar looks similar to the Citroën DS3 WRC that Petter campaigned in the 2011 World Rally Championship. Under the skin though, they are very different beasts. Essentially, there’s a lot more freedom in the rallycross regulations, and the cars themselves are faster. This allows the engineers to have almost as much fun as the drivers…

Rallycross cars have to use any standard engine block from the car manufacturer, meaning that they can run any size of engine with a 45mm turbo restrictor. This puts out up to 600 horsepower and delivers truly explosive performance. The only downside is the amount of turbo lag sometimes, meaning the drivers have to anticipate exactly when they will need maximum performance well in advance. However, despite the power, the engines are remarkably robust – lasting for several thousand kilometres. That’s because everything in the engine that can be reinforced is beefed up. Just as well because that massive turbo is trying to tear the two-litre engine apart every time Petter touches the throttle.

There’s more freedom in the chassis as well. You can modify the bodywork in order to cater for the unique demands of rallycross, with vents for the rear-mounted radiators for example: a standard feature of rallycross cars that stops dirt getting sucked into the engine and improves weight distribution. The minimum weight of rallycross cars is 1300 kilograms: making them truly featherweight racers. The biggest difference that Petter will notice compared to his other cars in recent years is that there’s no co-driver!

Transmission is four-wheel drive linked to a six-speed sequential gearbox, although the drivers rarely use sixth as it’s all about acceleration and powering past your rivals in rallycross. The gearbox and transmission is built for strength and reliability rather than ultimate sophistication.

As for electronics and driver aids, that’s easy enough: there aren’t any, just as it should be. There is one main sensor on the DS3 Supercar, which is the seat of Petter’s pants. Traction control is provided by Petter’s right foot and his hands on the steering wheel provide stability control. Launch control? Are you serious? That’s why Petter calls rallycross “pure motorsport.”

10 new models at the Frankfurt Auto Show

10 new models at the Frankfurt Auto Show

Here are the latest car models revealed by auto manufacturers present at the Frankfurt Motor Show impressed. I invite you to see the collection of pictures of new models!

The new models presented are: Seat Leon S, Audi A3, BMW X5 Series 4, Peugeot 308, Mazda 3, Mercedes GLA and S class, Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S. Here is the collection:

      Audi A3 Cabrio

Sporty, elegant and multi-faceted – Audi presents the new A3 Cabriolet. The compact four-seater impresses at first glance with its flowing lines and soft top. It is also at the top of its class technically – with systematic lightweight design, new engines, multi-faceted networking and high-performance assistance systems.

The new Audi A3 Cabriolet has grown compared to the previous model: its length increased from 4.24 to 4.42 meters (13.91 to 14.50 ft), its wheelbase from 2.58 to 2.60 meters (8.46 to 8.53 ft) and its width from 1.77 to 1.79 meters (5.81 to 5.87 ft). Only its height (1.41 meters [4.63 ft]) was reduced by 15 millimeters (0.59 in). This gives the four-seat convertible a more elegant and sporty look on the road. Luggage capacity grew by 60 liters (2.12 cubic ft), and it is easier to load. The wheel housings can handle wheels up to 19 inches in size.

The front of the Audi A3 Cabriolet is characterized by the Singleframe radiator grille. The flat headlights give it a resolute look; they emphasize the horizontal styling and the air intakes in the bumper. Audi offers headlights with LED technology as an option; they are the only LED headlights in the compact segment to offer variable headlight leveling control.

The rear overhang plays a key role in the harmonious proportions of the two-door car. The windshield frame is made of aluminum – and an aluminum-look trim strip runs around the entire car. On the flanks, the design features a taut tornado line and contoured sheet metal surfaces that create a fascinating interplay of light and shadow.

      Mazda 3

The 2013 Mazda3 has powerful engines and sharp handling, which reviewers say make it one of the most exhilarating small cars you can buy. Two available body styles add to its versatility.

All Mazda3 models have a four-cylinder engine, but regardless of which engine you choose, test drivers say that most shoppers will be very pleased with the Mazda3’s performance. The 155-horsepower Skyactiv engine, which was new for the 2012 model year, achieves an EPA-estimated 28/40 mpg city/highway, which is great for a small car. Plus, it doesn’t sacrifice performance for efficiency. All models except the Mazdaspeed3, which only comes with a six-speed manual transmission, offer a manual and automatic transmission. Depending on the trim, these transmissions have five or six gears. Test drivers think both the manual and automatic transmissions are responsive, but some find that the manuals make the Mazda3 feel faster. Reviewers are almost unanimous in saying that the Mazda3 has nimble, accurate handling, which makes it one of the most fun-to-drive models in the class.

The 2013 Mazda3 is available in sedan and hatchback body styles. The sedan is available in five trims: i SV, i Sport, i Touring, i Grand Touring and s Grand Touring. The hatchback is available in i Touring, i Grand Touring, s Grand Touring and Mazdaspeed3 models. The Mazda3 was last redesigned for the 2010 model year, and as a result, this overview uses applicable research and reviews from the 2010 to 2013 model years.

      Seat Leon ST

The rear end of the new Leon Sport Tourer, extended by 27 centimetres, provides an indication of the generous load space, while the angled rear windscreen, gently rounded roofline and muscular shoulders emphasize the dynamic driving pleasure. The technical elegance of the Leon ST is further accentuated by the optional full-LED headlamps in combination with LED rear lights.

Alongside the distinctly sporty look, exceptional efficiency was very high up the list of priorities in the development of the SEAT Leon ST. The fuel-efficient TDI and TSI engines, with displacements ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 litres and output from 63 kW (86 PS) to 135 kW (184 PS), all run with direct injection and turbocharging.
