What’s Audi Been Up To Recently?

Audi is one of the world’s most iconic car brands, but it doesn’t make much of a song and dance about what goes on inside the company. In that respect, it is quite demure and reserved.

Part of that has to do with the “dieselgate” scandal that rocked the industry back in 2015. But part of it is just the way the company sees itself. It’s not a rambunctious startup like Tesla. Instead, it’s a member of the old guard: an old-fashioned car company with old-fashioned ideals.

With that said, it is still in the business of making incredible vehicles. So what’s on the radar?

The Q5 Sportback SUV

Audi recently released the new Q5 Sportback SUV to go up against similar offerings from companies like BMW and Mercedes. The vehicle should become more widely available by the middle of 2021, offering a host of perks over and above the previous iteration. The longer wheelbase, for instance, will give the vehicle the feel of a grand tourer. And the 21-inch alloy wheels should provide a visual upgrade from the outside. There’s also adaptive air suspension and a plug-in hybrid version coming.

The New RS5 Coupe Has Been Revealed

Audi has also taken the start of autumn as an opportunity to reveal its new RS5 Coupé options. The updated vehicle offers upgraded looks, bringing it more into line with modern aesthetics. Keen Audi observers will notice things like the single-frame grille which underlies the entire front end of the car, as well as the throwback Quattro-styled callouts.

The car is also believed to feature an enhanced and upgraded engine, offering buyers even more power than the standard model. The vehicle will feature Audi’s exceptional 2.9-litre engine, delivering around 444 BHP.

There will also be a new infotainment system.

The RS5 is one of the most popular Audi used cars. The company, therefore, is keen to improve on the classic formula.

The Audi S8 Has Gone Head To Head With The Bentley Flying Spur

Audi would like you to believe that it has what it takes to go head-to-head with the most prestigious car brands in the world, offering an unrivalled level of luxury, thanks to its unique design philosophy.

For that reason, it’s been doing doughnuts with a fourth-gen S8, taking on the likes of the Bentley Flying Spur – a vehicle that costs more than £170,000 – some £70,000 more than the Audi.

Both limos recently duked it out at a disused airfield to see which could behave more recklessly—no surprises for guessing the winner.

Audi Launches The RS6 Avant Super Estate In The US

Audi is a “European exotic” to those on the US side of the pond. But now the German carmaker feels that the nation is ready to experience the RS6 Avant. The new vehicle features impressive dual touchscreens. There’s also a nice infotainment screen that helps with parking, showing you a 360-degree view of your surroundings. US buyers will still get the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing more than 592 BHP.

The F-TYPE Coupe visual message is defined by three key ‘heart lines’, that visual message beginning with the formidable grille. It is from the twin ‘shark gill’ openings that sit either side of the grille that the essential first heart line – which mirrors the design of the F-TYPE Convertible – flows and begins to take shape. Running up through the headlamp, and accentuated by the LED ‘J blade’ signature running lamps, the line then arcs up over the front wheel arch before dropping elegantly as it runs through the door, washing out into the muscular rear haunch.

The second heart line begins at the rear edge of the door, swelling outwards and upwards to create a visually strong wheel arch, emphasizing the car’s rear-wheel drive layout, before dropping vertically through the tail lamp ...
